Important Information
The plugin allows setting a discount only for the store’s primary currency.
The Splendid Sales Booster section can be added only to products of the following types:
- Simple product
- Variable product
- Subscription
- Variable subscription
In the Splendid Sales Booster section you can promote only these products:
- Simple products
- Subscription products
- Specific variants of a variable product
- Specific variants of a variable subscription
Plugin Capabilities
The plugin lets you choose which products to feature in the cross-selling section—i.e., recommending complementary items at the optimal moment during checkout. You can add any number of complementary products.
You can attach products to the Splendid Sales Booster section in two ways:
- In bulk via the Splendid Sales Booster Rules panel.
- Individually via the Splendid Sales Booster module on the specific product page.
The plugin also allows offering discounts on products in the Splendid Sales Booster section, granted when the customer adds both the main product and the complementary product to the cart.
Display Location Options
You can display the cross-selling section in two modes: as a slide-out drawer or statically on the product page. Both modes can also be enabled simultaneously.
The display mode is set in WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Splendid Sales Booster > Display cross-sells section.

Slide-out Drawer (After Adding to Cart)
The Splendid Sales Booster section appears as a slide-out drawer on any page immediately after adding a product to the cart.
If no complementary products are configured for the added product, the drawer will show only the “added to cart” notification without recommendations.
Note: The WooCommerce REST API module must be enabled (it is enabled by default) for the drawer to function correctly.
On the Product Page (Before Adding to Cart)
The Splendid Sales Booster section appears on the product page, just above the Add to Cart button.

Discount Types
You can configure a discount for each linked product individually. Available options:
- Percentage discount
- Fixed amount discount
- No discount – the product is offered at its regular price.
Main Settings
Plugin configuration is located in WooCommerce > Settings > Products > WooCommerce Splendid Sales Booster. A link to this page is also available on the Installed Plugins list.
Display Location – where the Splendid Sales Booster section will appear:
- In the drawer – on any page as a slide-out drawer after adding a product to the cart.
- On the product page – just above the Add to Cart button.
- Both – enable both drawer and product page modes simultaneously.
Default Section Title – set a global title for all products with an active Splendid Sales Booster section. Individual products can override this default. Leaving it blank hides the title everywhere unless specified per product.
Product Images – enable or disable product thumbnails in the Splendid Sales Booster section (global setting).
Allow Coupons with Discounts – by default, plugin discounts are not combined with WooCommerce coupon codes. Enable this option to allow stacking.
Cross-Selling Rules
Rules allow you to bulk-assign complementary products to many items at once.
You’ll find the Rules manager in the admin sidebar under Products > Splendid Sales Booster.
The list of products shown in the Splendid Sales Booster section is the union of all rules plus any individual product settings. When multiple rules apply, product order, discounts, and call-to-action text follow the priority logic described below.
Rule Scope (Location)
Choose where each rule applies, in bulk:
- By category: Select one or more categories. Products in any selected category will display the booster. Parent categories include all their subcategories.
- By tag: Select one or more tags. Products with any selected tag will display the booster.
- All products: Applies to every product in the store.
For example, adding “Premium XXL Contact Lens Solution” under “By category: Contact Lenses” applies that booster to all products in the Contact Lenses category (and its subcategories).
Managing Rule Order
Drag & drop rules up or down—or use the up/down arrows—to change their priority. Higher (earlier) rules override lower ones. Individual product settings always have the highest priority.
Priority Logic
If multiple rules match a product, the highest-priority rule applies. This affects both the discount and the call-to-action text.
Example: Two rules target the Contact Lenses category:
- Rule A (higher): Show “Premium XXL Solution” for Contact Lenses
- Rule B (lower): Show “Premium XXL Solution + €10 off” for Premium Contact Lenses
Because Premium Contact Lenses is a subcategory of Contact Lenses, both rules match. Rule A takes precedence, so only its settings are used. If you swap their order, Rule B applies instead, adding the €10 discount.
Product Edit Page Settings
Selecting Featured Products
To add a complementary product to the Splendid Sales Booster section, go to the product’s settings. In the Product Data panel, open the Related Products tab.

Click the Add Product button. The Product field acts as a search—type at least three characters of the product name to find it.
Note: You can only select simple products, subscription products, specific variants of variable products, or specific variants of variable subscriptions. To let customers choose between variants, add each variant as a separate booster product.
Reordering Featured Products
Drag & drop product cards up or down by grabbing the title bar to change display order. This order is reflected on the product page.
Hover over a product’s title bar to reveal the remove button and delete it from the Splendid Sales Booster section.
Product Call-to-Action
For each linked product, you can set a custom subtitle (CTA) to reinforce your marketing message or explain why the customer should add that item. For example, when selling contact lenses, you might add lens solution with CTA:
“67% of customers choose solution when buying contact lenses”
Configuring Discounts
The plugin lets you set a percentage discount, a fixed amount discount, or no discount.
- To apply a percentage discount, set Discount Type to “Percentage”.
- To apply a fixed–amount discount, set Discount Type to “Fixed Amount”.
- Enter the numeric value of the discount (no other characters).
- To offer the item at its normal price, set Discount Type to “None”.
Cart Discount Algorithm
The plugin adjusts prices in the cart for products linked via Splendid Sales Booster. Once you grant a discount on a product, it applies whether products were added together or separately—their joint presence in the cart is all that matters.
A cart discount is always applied when any Splendid Sales Booster rule is in effect. That means if a customer adds a qualifying product from a category page or any other page—not via the booster section—the discount still applies.
Below are examples for various parent–child combinations in the cart. “Parent” is the main product; “Child” is the complementary item. The algorithm always chooses the best discount for the customer. If multiple parent products each define a discount for the same child, the single most favorable discount is used.
Examples of Cart Discount Combinations
- Parent A ×1, Parent B ×1, Child C ×2
Each parent defines a different discounted price for C. Result: one C uses A’s price, the other uses B’s price. - Parent A ×1, Parent B ×1, Child C ×1
Both parents define different prices for C. Result: the lower (customer-favorable) price is applied. - Parent A ×1, Parent B ×1, Child C ×3
Both parents define different prices for C. Result: one C at A’s price, one at B’s price, and the extra C at the standard price.
For subscriptions, the discount applies only to the first payment.
Bulk Removal Tool
The Remove Splendid Sales Booster Products tool clears all booster settings from products and rules (leaving empty rules). Find it under WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Remove Splendid Sales Booster Products. Use with caution—this action is irreversible. Consider backing up your database first.
Cart Display of Discounts
When a discount is applied in the cart, the original price is struck through and the new price is highlighted beside it.
Note: Splendid Sales Booster products do not appear in the cart’s product table. This view demonstrates only how discounts are displayed.
Styling Examples
You can style the Splendid Sales Booster section with custom CSS. We use standard WooCommerce modules so it matches your theme by default.
If you’re unfamiliar with editing your theme’s CSS, go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS in WordPress.
Change text sizes in the Splendid Sales Booster section
The following CSS sets the product title size to 14px:
.single-product div.product table.shop_table.wcssb-cross-sells a.wcssb-cross-sell-item-name {
font-size: 14px;
} To change the size of the original price:
.single-product div.product table.shop_table.wcssb-cross-sells p.price del,
.single-product div.product table.shop_table.wcssb-cross-sells p.price del span {
font-size: 14px;
} To change the section heading size:
.single-product div.product h3.wcssb-cross-sells-section-title {
font-size: 14px;
} To change the CTA subtitle size for each item:
.single-product div.product table.shop_table.wcssb-cross-sells h4.wcssb-cross-sell-item-cta {
font-size: 14px;
} You can replace font-size: 14px; with other CSS properties (e.g. color: #ff0000; to set red text).
To remove the table border in the Splendid Sales Booster section:
.single-product div.product table.shop_table.wcssb-cross-sells,
.single-product div.product table.shop_table.wcssb-cross-sells td {
border: none;
}
